Warner Bros. unveils innovative NFT-Based ‘Superman’ Movie bundles

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is launching a limited-time, nonfungible token (NFT)-based movie marketing effort, starting with 1978’s “Superman: The Movie.” This initiative is part of Warner Bros.’s strategy to innovate the home-entertainment business as physical disc sales continue to diminish.

Web3 goes super

The freshly unveiled Superman Web3 Movie Experience is an all-encompassing NFT bundle that provides not only a 4K Ultra HD rendition of the classic film but also supplements it with additional content such as image galleries and artistic interpretations by renowned illustrators.

The move is aimed at driving interest among NFT enthusiasts and DC Comics fans, not only to generate revenue from initial sales but also to foster a committed fan community for potential future benefits.

The Superman Web3 Movie Experience is available in two editions. The Standard Edition, priced at $30, includes an interactive location-based navigation menu, the theatrical version of the film, previously released special features, and an image gallery. Meanwhile, the Premium Edition, priced at $100, offers three different purchasable variations—Truth, Justice, and Hope—each featuring a distinct illustration of Christopher Reeve’s Superman from one of three DC artists: Ivan Reiss, Ben Oliver, or Bill Sienkiewicz. It also includes an interactive location-based navigation menu, three versions of the film, and extensive image galleries.

Starting June 8, the Superman Web3 Movie Experience will be up for grabs. An artificially limited offering period boosts the allure of the bundles, priced at $30 for the Standard Edition and $100 for the Premium Edition. After creating an Eluvio NFT media wallet, which acts as a digital vault for its content, customers can complete their purchase with a credit card or cryptocurrency.

Early access to the Superman Web3 Movie Experience will be available on June 8 to holders of various DC and Lord of the Rings NFTs at different times.

Warner Bros continues to invest in NFTs

Following last year’s inaugural “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” NFT movie bundle, the Superman release is the second installment in the “WB Movieverse” series.

As part of the Superman Web3 Movie Experience, buyers will receive a complimentary voucher code for the DC3 Super Power Pack: Series Superman from the DC NFT Marketplace. These packs contain three Superman comics selected at random, with rarities that span from “Common” to “Legendary.”

Warner Bros. plans to introduce new themed packs and web3 iniatives, providing fans with fresh opportunities to explore and collect exciting DC NFTs.

Eluvio – streaming and content distribution Blockchain

Michelle Munson, CEO and co-founder of Eluvio, stated:

“For fans of this beloved and iconic film, ‘Superman: The Movie’ is being released as an exclusive Web3 film and immersive digital collectible for the first time.”

Purchasers can watch, collect, and sell their Superman NFT movie bundles in the Movieverse marketplace, built on the Eluvio Content Blockchain. Both companies highlight the fact that all core digital assets and derivative NFTs are on the blockchain, not just the NFT token itself.

Eluvio’s blockchain-based architecture revolutionizes streaming and content distribution systems by delivering remarkable efficiency, surpassing traditional methods. This innovative approach substantially minimizes network storage and usage demands, leading to improved resource utilization and enhanced performance.
