The Sandbox and Ledger Enterprise join forces for metaverse security

Decentralized metaverse platform The Sandbox collaborates with Ledger Enterprise to enhance security for its partners and NFT collections.

Partnership details and benefits

The Sandbox recently announced a partnership with security solution provider Ledger Enterprise. As part of this collaboration, several initiatives will be undertaken to provide increased security for the platform’s partners.

The Sandbox will appear as a decentralized application (dApp) on Ledger Enterprise, and a widget will be integrated into the Ledger Live desktop application. This partnership will also see the transfer of all NFTs in the Sandbox’s collection wallet to the Ledger Enterprise wallet.

Sebastien Borget, COO and Co-Founder of The Sandbox, said about this partnership:

“We have a long relationship with Ledger and we’re excited to deepen our partnership to provide further security to brands entering the metaverse. We are making it easier for our users to access Ledger and for Ledger clients to access The Sandbox, and that will also make it easier and safer for individuals and brands to thrive in the metaverse.”

Mutual promotion and support

In addition to the security integration, The Sandbox will recommend Ledger Enterprise to its LAND owner ecosystem, while Ledger will promote the Sandbox metaverse to its clients. This partnership expands upon the existing collaboration between The Sandbox and Ledger, which aims to promote crypto education in the metaverse.

In 2022, the Sandbox and Ledger initially joined forces to promote crypto security education through a game called School of Block within the Sandbox’s metaverse. The Sandbox’s VP of communications, Ariel Wengroff, expressed the company’s excitement about the collaboration.

Funding and expansion

In May, Ledger raised $109 million in a Series C funding round extension, achieving a valuation of $1.4 billion. With support from investors such as VaynerFund, Cité Gestion SPV, True Global Ventures, and Digital Finance Group, Ledger plans to expand its distribution network, increase production, and develop new products.

The Sandbox has been proactive in expanding its partnerships, signing a memorandum of understanding with the government of Saudi Arabia in February to explore and support metaverse development. The company has also partnered with major names in and out of the Web3 space, including Snoop Dogg, Forbes, Gucci, Tim, Atari, HSBC, and Warner Music Group.

The Sandbox and Ledger Enterprise are building a secure and fruitful partnership, ensuring that the metaverse remains a “safe sandbox” for businesses and users alike.
