Unveiling the collection
Available exclusively through the Starbucks rewards program, these digital assets are built on the Polygon blockchain. The Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL) collection is categorized into four types: Spiced, Whipped, Iced, and Steamed, each echoing different characteristics of the drink.
Starbucks hasn’t set a cap on the number of tokens that can be minted and sold during the designated sales period for the PSL collection.
NFT sale details
For enthusiasts and collectors, the digital collectibles will be up for grabs from today until the 9th of October, with a price tag of $20 each. There’s an added bonus for Starbucks Odyssey members, as every NFT purchase will fetch them an additional 250 points. However, a word of caution: only members of Starbucks’ loyalty program can acquire these tokens.
The digital art corresponding to these tokens will see the light of day on October 10, adding another layer of intrigue to the release.
Introduction to Starbucks Odyssey
Starbucks Odyssey, currently in its beta phase, is the platform supporting this NFT release. Launched in late 2022, the platform caters to Starbucks Rewards members and partners (employees) in the U.S., offering them the ability to earn and purchase digital collectibles.
More than just a collection space, Odyssey provides interactive modules called ‘Journeys’. Successful completion of these modules rewards members with ‘Journey Stamps’ (NFTs) and Odyssey Points, leading to potential new benefits and offerings.
From barista to blockchain
Starbucks, no stranger to exploring new avenues, has made its presence felt in the digital collectible landscape with Starbucks Odyssey and the recent NFT drop. The intersection of traditional coffee appreciation with emerging digital trends is indicative of the brand’s adaptability.
