OKX and Tribeca launch NFT event passes for 2023 festival

OKX, one of the largest centralized cryptocurrency exchanges to launch the first-ever Non-Fungible Token (NFT) pass for Tribeca Festival 2023.

OKX to issue Tribeca NFT event passes

The Tribeca Festival will take place from June 7 to18 in New York City. The VIP NFT pass includes access to select Festival screenings, after-parties, an invite-only awards ceremony with Tribeca co-founders Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro, and more. The Tribeca Festival NFT pass is available on the OKX NFT marketplace or via the Tribeca website. OKX Chief Marketing Officer Haider Rafique stated

“It’s exciting we’ve partnered with the Tribeca team to introduce a first-of-its kind NFT pass. This allows festival goers to experience Web3 and ways to build on top of this unique technology. We’re particularly looking to inspire artists to create more on Web3 and we’ll keep our eyes out for individuals who will do more with this concept.”

Tribeca also collaborated with AWA Studios and renowned comic artist Jonathan Bartlett to develop an NFT design featuring the scenery of Lower Manhattan, with a focus on the Tribeca area, which is a hub of creativity in New York City. Tribeca Enterprises Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Jane Rosenthal said:

“The Tribeca Festival has always been at the forefront of the intersection of technology and creativity, and it’s only fitting that this year’s VIP pass comes in the form of an exclusive NFT.”

An NFT event ticket or pass is a unique, digital token that represents ownership of a ticket to a specific event, such as a concert, sports game, or festival. These tokens are created and stored on a blockchain, which is a digital ledger that records all transactions. The blockchain ensures that the NFT ticket is one-of-a-kind and can’t be replicated or counterfeited

The ticket holder can use the NFT to gain entry to the event and it can also be resold, transferred or traded on the secondary market. When the ticket is resold, the ownership of the NFT will be transferred to the new buyer and the previous owner will no longer be able to use it to gain entry to the event.

OKX ventures into the world of NFT and web3

This announcement is the latest in a series of moves by OKX to expand the use cases and access for NFTs and Web3. In December 2022, OKX announced a partnership with DappRadar, a leading provider of data and insights on decentralized applications, to make it easier for users to discover and access NFTs and dApps.

The partnership allowed OKX to integrate DappRadar’s data into its platform, making it easier for users to find and explore new NFTs and dApps. Additionally, the partnership will give DappRadar access to OKX’s user base, providing valuable insights and data on the usage and adoption of NFTs and dApps. OKX is also looking into the integration of NFTs, GameFi, DeFi tokens and metaverse experiences for its user base.
