Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds launch NFT music collection

In an uncommonly close race for Number 1 on the Official Charts, Noel Gallagher and his band, High Flying Birds, are making an unexpected move. They’re releasing an NFT (Non-Fungible Token) of their latest album, “Council Skies,” hoping to swing the pendulum in their favor.
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds announce exclusive digital release
The rock band, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, is stirring excitement among fans. They’ve teamed up with Serenade to unveil a Limited Edition Digital Pressing of their album, ‘Council Skies’.
Packed with special features, this release grants buyers access to the first two parts of a docuseries on the making of ‘Council Skies’. This bonus offers almost an hour of never-seen-before footage.
As part of the package, a unique digital artwork – signed and new – will be available, alongside high-quality audio and a lyric sheet for the album’s title track. The release is set for 10 AM on Thursday, June 8. To get notified, fans can sign up on the official website.
The battle for #1 in the music charts
Starting tomorrow, die-hard fans of “Council Skies” will have the opportunity to purchase the NFT album. This move follows in the footsteps of Muse, who last year saw their album “Will Of The People” become the first chart-accredited release as a Web3 product. The album subsequently clinched the Number 1 spot.
The former Oasis frontman is locked in a fierce chart battle with Dave Grohl and his band, the Foo Fighters. Gallagher’s aim? To replicate Muse’s success by going toe-to-toe with Foo Fighters’ emotionally-resonant eleventh studio album, “But Here We Are.”
Estimates suggest that the Foo Fighters are on track to extend their lead, largely due to slightly superior streaming figures on platforms such as Spotify. However, this could all change if Gallagher’s NFT release strategy generates a surge in sales, pushing him back into the lead.
