Qatar Airways, a trailblazer in the world of aviation, has dared to make a grand entry into the metaverse. The national carrier of the State of Qatar has launched QVerse, an exhilarating virtual reality (VR) experience.

Qatar Airways invites everyone to embark on a breathtaking virtual tour. The QVerse immerses participants in several settings, including the ambiance of the Premium Check-in area at Hamad International Airport (HIA), the plush comforts of the award-winning Business Class – Qsuite, and the comfortable confines of the Economy Class cabin.
With the world’s most advanced real-time 3D creation tool, Epic Games’ Unreal Engine, and the MetaHuman Creator at their fingertips, users can navigate these spaces with a virtual hostess guiding their journey, feeding them information about each location. The cherry on top? Visitors can stumble upon discounts tucked away in these digital nooks, applicable when booking premium or economy class tickets with Qatar Airways.
MetaHuman cabin crew
This groundbreaking VR experience also sees the introduction of the MetaHuman cabin crew, an innovative leap in digital customer service. ‘Sama’, a high-fidelity 3D model whose name takes its roots from Arabic, translating to ‘sky’, spearheads this digitally interactive crew.
Equipped with an engaging narrated script, Sama takes passengers on a captivating virtual journey, highlighting the unique features of both the Business and Economy Class cabins.
Conquering new digital heights
Qatar Airways is expanding its virtual horizons even further. Following the initial success of QVerse, which allowed users to explore the premium check-in zone at HIA, the Qsuite business class, and the economy class cabin on the Boeing 777-300, the airline has extended its digital domains.
Now, passengers can set off on exhilarating virtual expeditions through the business class suite and economy class of the Boeing 787-9, the Qsuite and economy class of the Airbus A350-1000, and experience the sheer opulence of the Al Safwa First Class Lounge and the Al Mourjan Business Class Lounge at HIA.
