Cool Cats Group announces three new games in partnership with gaming publishers
Web3 firm Cool Cats Group, the brain behind the NFT collection Cool Cats, is diving deeper into the gaming world. The firm is teaming up with three leading gaming publishers—nWay, iCandy, and Sync Studios—to produce three novel games inspired by the Cool Cats brand. The trifecta of games is currently in production and is slated for release between late 2023 and early 2024.
Cool Cats in the Limelight
The Cool Cats Group has been in the spotlight recently, announcing a strategic investment from Web3 heavyweight Animoca Brands, which lead to a significant surge in the trading volume of its collection, and a strategic alliance with Futureverse, a prominent metaverse infrastructure and content company.
Stephen Teglas, the CEO of Cool Cats, has high hopes for the gaming initiative. In a press release, Teglas explained:
“Gaming is an immersive content distribution platform that builds [an] emotional connection with the characters and story through engaging gameplay. Our new games are critical to our ongoing mission of developing Cool Cats into a globally known character brand and a robust storytelling and content company.
With nWay, iCandy, and Sync Studios, we are partnering with three innovative leaders to provide immersive gaming entertainment to engage our current fans and introduce our brand to the broader global audience.”
Detailing the upcoming games
Cool Cats’ collaboration with nWay, an offshoot of Animoca Brands based in San Francisco, will result in a fast-paced multiplayer arcade game. nWay is known for its prowess in the domain, having developed and published successful titles like Power Rangers: Legacy Wars and ChronoBlade.
iCandy Interactive Limited is publishing the second game—an endless runner game in 2D. Slated for a September 2023 release, the game will be browser-based. iCandy, backed by Animoca Brands, has an impressive global reach with over 370 million gamers, making them one of the top developers in Australia and Southeast Asia.
The third game, a collaboration with Sync Studios, will be a match3 game for mobile platforms, similar to popular games like Bejeweled or Candy Crush. Sync Studiosis also renowned for developing IP games for industry titans like Hasbro, Paramount Studios, and Warner Brothers.
Nerdgasm: Cool Cats is going to Comic Con
The Cool Cats Group is already planning for what lies beyond these three games. A series of partnerships and activations designed to widen their audience is underway. Notably, the company will host a booth at the international Comic Con this month.
