Artist Collaborates With a Jewelry Startup to Debut the First Bahrain Jewelry NFT Collection

Leena AI Ayoobi, one of the most renowned designers and artists in Bahrain, reached a consensus with a jewelry startup, My Gold Souq, for a Bahrain NFT Collection. The NFT collection, named Sardana, is meant to commemorate the history and traditions of the people living in the island country located in Western Asia.
A Bahrain Jewelry NFT Collection Launches
A Bahrain jewel NFT Collection has been launched by Leena AI Ayoobi, one of Bahrain’s most renowned artists and designers. The artist collaborated with a national jewelry store to create the world’s first digital collection of Bahraini pearl jewelry. The collection will be tokenized, minted on the blockchain network, and then sold to collectors.
Dubbed Sardana, the collection is one of the rarest to be minted and launched for purchase, following its roots in the rich Bahraini culture of beauty and jewelry. Ancient Dilmun folktales about men sailing out to sea in search of treasure serve as the basis and inspiration for the collection. The jewelry NFT collection includes natural Bahraini saltwater pearls certified by the Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones, Danat, as well as 18k gold.
Buyers will also get an NFT of one of Leena’s art pieces and the jewelry. Every component of art in the package has physically been drawn by hand by the artist in her distinctive manner, which celebrates influential female figures. The creative hand art makes the NFTs super rare.
More on the Story
Regarding the collection, the Chairman of the National Arts Council Sheikh Rashid Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa stated that the Country has been on the road to adopting technology by supporting innovation in the digital arena. Khalifa also congratulated all the parties involved in making the project a success, as it symbolizes a massive step towards the growth of NFTs and technology:
“Bahrain has always been at the forefront of innovation, and I congratulate everyone involved in this project, which represents another important ‘first’ for the region. The secure authentication of the pearls, supported by the blockchain, demonstrates how technology can be used to modernize a centuries-old industry and puts Bahraini pearls on a global stage for a worldwide market.”
Al Ayoubi also mentioned an optimistic note about the project by stating that her aim as an artist was to honor the Bahraini culture in the advancing world of technology:
“My aim with this collection is to celebrate our heritage while incorporating futuristic technologies. It is a perfect demonstration or proof of integrating NFTs into our daily lives.”
More NFT Collections Launched Globally
The world has seen more NFT collections being launched, showing hope for the community amidst the current market downturn. Just recently, one of the world’s best players, a 5-times Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, partnered with Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange, to launch an NFT collection.
Lionel Messi has also seen an alliance with Sorare, a fantasy football gaming platform, to improve web3 experiences. These debuts and much more in the space indicate that NFTs are moving closer and closer toward mass adoption.
